Cafe Mortel: How might we reimagine the end-of-life experience for ourselves and our loved ones?

How might we reimagine the end-of-life experience for ourselves and our loved ones?

"Each of our lives is a story. As we plan for its final chapter, we have the opportunity to incorporate our passions, relationships, and spirituality to make dying better. Let’s re-imagine how we prepare for, share and live through the final chapter of our story."

The idea of a Café Mortel (or "Death Café") comes from the work of Swiss sociologist Bernard Crettaz.  Jon Underwood in the UK ran with the idea in November 2010. Today, Death Cafés are held in over 29 countries. Death Café New York City adopts the "salon" model: free-flowing conversation around the topic of death from-any-angle.  (http://www.meetup.com/Death-Cafe-New-York-City/)
